The After School Fashion Design Program:

For 5 years old to 12 years old. 

Dream it, sew it, wear it!

Let your budding Fashion Designers unleash creativity and witness the incredible transformation as they become the designers of their own destiny.

At The Fashion Squad School we believe in the power of your child's unique imagination and their ability to bring their fashion dreams to life.

In our program, children aged 5 and up embark on an exciting journey into the world of fashion:

• They will learn the art of fashion illustration,
• Discover the thrill of selecting fabrics,
• Explore with Fabric Design and discover the world of fabrics, patterns, and textures to create unique and eye-catching designs.
• Learn about Eco-Friendly Fashion and the importance of sustainability by exploring creative ways to recycle and upcycle clothes,
• Master the craft of sewing real clothes and accessories that they can proudly wear,
• Explore the nuances of styling and modeling their own creations,
• Show off their personality during our Modeling Workshop, helping them gain confidence as they model their own creations,
• Showcase their extraordinary designs on the Runway !

Our students have the opportunity to participate in a series of Three Fashion Cycles, throughout the school year. At the conclusion of each Fashion Cycle, our students get to showcase their extraordinary designs during our enchanting Fashion Week shows. We extend a warm invitation to family members and friends, who will be thrilled to witness your child's remarkable talents as they confidently strut down the runway, wearing their very own creations!

These cycles include:

• The Fall Cycle (September to December)
• The Winter Cycle (January to March)
• The Spring/Summer Cycle (April to June)

Our classes are designed to be engaging and enriching, with each session lasting two hours (one-hour classes are also available upon request). To make your experience hassle-free, we provide all the necessary supplies, ensuring that your child has everything they need to embark on their fashion journey.

Additionally, we offer after-school pick-up services from several schools including PS234, PS89, PS150 and Spruce Street School. Your child's convenience and safety are our top priorities.

To keep our young designers energized, we offer nut-free snacks during a well-deserved 20-minute break. Rest assured, we take every precaution to create a safe and inclusive environment for all our students.

The Saturday Fashion Design Program:

The curriculum format is the same as the After School program except the classes are from 10am to 12pm on Saturdays. 

For 5 years old to 12 years old. 

Let your kids dive into the world of fashion design with Project Runway alum, Layana Aguilar and her team at The Fashion Squad School!

As a graduate of FIT, Aguilar has structured unique child-directed fashion design classes that not only introduce the basics of sewing, but mimic the real-life experience of the world of Fashion Design. From a sketch to the final runway show, At the end of each fashion cycle, our students walk away with ONE COMPLETE OUTFIT + ACCESSORY, basic sewing skills and most importantly, a newfound self-confidence!

Students ages 5 and up explore the Fashion Design World as they learn fashion illustration, choosing fabrics, sewing real clothes and accessories they can wear proudly, styling, modeling their creations and presenting them on the runway!

Every 8 or more weeks, the students work on a new outfit for each Fashion Cycle: 

• The Fall Cycle (September to December)
• The Winter Cycle (January to March)
• The Spring/Summer Cycle (April to June)
